Are You Prepared to React in the Event of Workplace Violence?
An Interview with a Police Expert

Overview

As online workplace violence prevention training becomes a staple of on-the-job employee education (and at many institutions, a requirement), in this eLearning module, Dr. Donna Hallas interviews retired Connecticut State Police Lieutenant Paul Vance, an expert on violence prevention. Mr. Vance is well-known as the state police information officer and spokesperson during the tragedy that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT.

For brevity's sake and to ensure that Mr. Vance highlights information that is not only applicable to our target audience but to the general public, we sent Mr. Vance a list of questions written by Dr. Hallas prior to the interview. This allowed Mr. Vance some time to prepare his responses. Dr. Hallas sat down with Mr. Vance and I recorded the interview using a DSLR camera and directional Mic.

After the interview, I edited the clips to include only pertinent parts of the interview. From there, Dr. Hallas and I went through each clip and made annotations to highlight Mr. Vance's main points. Finally, I divided the master video into separate clips so that each question was exported as a separate video so that viewers can control the pace at which they watch.

I edited the clips and added annotations using Camtasia  2 and adjusted the audio using Adobe Audition.

I have included screenshots below:
As Dr. Hallas asks her question, the text appears at the bottom of the screen.
