Quality Improvement

Overview
I collaborated with Dr. Maja Djukic at NYU Meyers to create this eLearning course as part of the HRSA Grant funded Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Preceptor Development Program (PC-NP-PDP). The course introduces Nurse Practitioners (NP) to basic concepts and resources related to Quality Improvement (QI) that they can apply to their practice. It consists of 5 sub-modules, each of which addresses the learning objectives listed below. To measure learning, learners take a 10-question pre-test before beginning the course and a 10-question post-test once they complete it.

Target Audience
Practicing NP Preceptors and NP students at NYU.

Learning Objectives
  1. Define high quality care
  2. Discuss gaps in health care quality
  3. Explain national quality strategy
  4. Describe the steps in the Quality Improvement process
  5. Select appropriate tools for each phase of the improvement process

Development and Delivery
I built each sub-module in Adobe Captivate and published files in HTML5 to the PC-NP-PDP website, as SCORM files to faculty members' NYU Classes courses, and as a Continuing Education Program on the National Association of Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) website.

Try each sub-module for yourself by clicking the images below!
This Online Learning Module is supported by the Health and Human Resources Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of an award totaling $2.1 million with no percentage financed with non-government resources. The contents are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent the official views of, any endorsement, by HRSA, HHS, or the U.S. Government.
